I love meeting new people and sharing the abundance of the bins. Freeganism is largely about sharing, and meeting up with others of like mind gives us a chance to share: to share ideas, fun times and free food!
I've been hardcore about it for about 3 years, but my parents taught me to dumpster dive and glean when I was little.
Pretty much anywhere in LA that I can reach with a bike and a bus.
Do you mean, do I consider myself a Freegan? If that's the question, the answer is yes!
People should join our group because they get free food. ;) Also, it's fun, and you're saving perfectly good food from going into the landfill. And you can learn about "freeganism" and meet cool people like Eric.

Homelessness is Not a Crime Potluck and Bin Rescue
"Our scheduled speaker didn't show up, but fortunately the local filmmaker who made the piece we showed did come. He presented for us and really engaged the whole group (Thanks, Ernie!). ..."
"It was a very successful potluck in a lot of uses of that word. The discussion was really intriguing."
